Mission Statement

Cahaba Pain and Spine Care exists to improve the quality of life and limit the suffering of our patients who are in chronic pain. Pain is a physically, emotionally and socially draining experience. We recognize that chronic pain impedes our patients’ enjoyment of activities, limits their quality of life, may impair their ability to maintain employment or social relationships. We deliver safe, compassionate, timely, and responsible pain relief to our patients through a multi-modal team-based approach emphasizing non-surgical minimally-invasive techniques. Our care is individualized, focused on the patient’s condition and always performed with their input, and delivered by our team of expert Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Assistants and other staff.

  • Accessibility—We will evaluate each appointment request within a few days of receipt with a goal of scheduling patients within 2 weeks.

  • Non-surgical management of Pain—We will treat with modalities such as physical therapy, medication, minimally invasive procedures, topicals, devices, tens unit, biofeedback and other non-surgical approaches where possible. When indicated, we will refer for surgery if necessary.
  • Professionalism—All of our physicians and providers are Board-Certified or Board Eligible. All of our physicians are double board certified In Anesthesiology and Pain Management. All of our Physicians and Providers are certified by state and federal authorities to provide the interventional and clinical care that you receive.
  • Respect—We know you are hurting, and we value the trust you have placed in us. We will do everything we can to help you achieve your pain treatment goals and have the best outcome possible.
  • Responsibility/ Accountability: As the Hippocratic oath states, “first, do no harm,” Responsibility to Patients, Staff and the Community
  • Timeliness – your time, and our time, is valuable. We will complete your office visit and procedure visit in a timely manner. For office visits, we strive to complete your visit within 1 hour; for new patient visits, within 2 hours; and for procedures, within 90 minutes. Our patients typically experience shorter wait times on their procedure day with us than in a hospital or surgery center.
