Taylor Scruggs, M.D.

Dr. Taylor Scruggs joined Cahaba Pain and Spine in 2024 and is excited to be part of a wonderful team that strives to make a positive impact on patient’s lives who are faced with chronic and acute pain.

Originally from Jackson, MS, Dr. Taylor Scruggs received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alabama in 2011. He completed medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2016, followed by a residency in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he served as Chief Resident. After his residency training, he remained at UAB for an additional fellowship in Interventional Pain Management. After his fellowship, he moved to the Alabama Gulf Coast where he practiced both Interventional Pain and Anesthesiology in private practice. He is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

The combination of his in-depth medical training along with his compassionate and caring spirit help provide Dr. Scruggs with the tools necessary to make a positive difference in patients’ lives. He specializes in comprehensive pain management and pain relief interventions such as epidurals, radiofrequency nerve ablations, Spinal Cord Stimulators, and various other nerve and joint injections. His goal is to get you back doing the things that you love.

Dr. Scruggs enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and trying new restaurants wherever he goes. He also enjoys playing golf with family and friends and exploring all the great opportunities that the Birmingham area has to offer.
