We are particularly interested in the chronic pain care of an aging population. Good care requires clear communication with the patient and often, the patient’s family.
History and physical exam are especially important in diagnosing common geriatric pain issues such as hip or knee osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, and facet arthralgia.
We are mindful of the potential interactions with other medications and side effects that may occur with pain medication.
Our focus is to improve our patients’ quality of life and functionality while minimizing unwanted side effects like constipation, balance problems, and cognitive slowing.
